Erigo Inc is a volunteer-based group our primary aim is to provide educational opportunities and resources to underprivileged children in South Vietnam in the Province of Dong Nai and Bac Lieu.
LYN PACKER
Lyn Packer first travelled to Vietnam in May 2004 and she has been based in Ho Chi Min City (Saigon) since. Lyn retrained to Teach English as a Foreign Language. Her intention when she first went to Vietnam was to teach English, on a voluntary basis, to those who would not normally have access to English classes. She has taught in many and varied locations and circumstances and in time her mission evolved. The enthusiasm and spirit of the children, families and communities she visited throughout South Vietnam inspired her.
In June 2006 a group of like-minded friends joined Lyn in her work and thus Erigo Inc was born. Erigo Inc is a registered NFP, which is volunteer, based. No donated money is used by our volunteer team for travel, accommodation or other sundry costs. However Vietnam offers unique challenges and opportunities and in order to best understand the needs of each child/community we sometimes hire local staff to collate data and act as translators. Local staff will care for children in “Compassion House” and local teachers/tutors and staff will be hired when the need arises in various projects. This ensures our participating children and their communities receive the highest quality program in accord with their desired outcome. It is our intention to keep these overheads to a maximum of 10% of our annual budget. It is not our intention to develop a wasteful beaurocracy but to deliver our donors money efficiently and effectively to the recipients.

Education and educational infrastructure are lifelong gifts, it empowers people and will ultimately improve socioeconomic conditions for today’s Vietnamese children, their families, communities and future generations. Erigo Inc programs are a catalyst for change and inspire self-sufficiency.
PROGRAM SELECTION
First the school/village/community must initiate the request and we partner with the community. It is important all participants share the common goal and belief in the value of education for the children.
Wherever possible Erigo Inc looks to the communities to provide some inkind input by way of labor or land/materials.

Erigo Inc was incorporated in Western Australia on 14th June 2006.
